- Description: The Good Shepherd Centre offers a 2 course meal (using a variety of different types of cuisine)  cooked by our volunteers and served by young people from local schools. Although the club is aimed principally at elderly people it is open to all. This increases the opportunities for social interaction, both with people of similar age, and also with people of different ages and experience. After the meal, we have various  activities organised by our young people which are very well received. We have had a variety people who come and do activities. For instance, someone came and played various fun “ice-breaker” games, which has helped us to learn more about the circumstances of our guests, and helped them to get to know one another. We have young people interacting with the elderly, building their relationships, talking about their past, life experience. Children and young adults often perform for our guests, singing songs, dancing, or helping during various activities.  Young people provide entertainment, serve food and generally look after the elderly people, and they, in turn, encourage the young ones and offer the wisdom of their years. We are glad that we are providing a safe environment where two different age groups can get to know each other for their mutual benefit.

 The Good Shepherd Centre
 as a registered charity was originally started to provide support for new families arriving in the town. As the service developed over 25 other nationalities have been involved, including asylum seekers and refugees.
 
 As a Keighley Place of Sanctuary we aim to offer a warm welcome to everyone
 
 The Centre offers a wide range of support to families including food, furniture, clothing, medical support, Stay and Play sessions, Mental Health Peer support Groups, English classes, Digital Courses, Friendship Groups, Horticulture Courses, youth groups, employment, one to one support, community events and much more.
