New Choices - Strawberry Street

Bradford Provider List

Strawberry Street is situated close to Keighley town centre and within walking distance of Cliffe Castle and very close to public transport routes.

The primary focus of the service is arts & crafts, often working on seasonal projects, such as religious or cultural events, all agreed with the people who attend. The service supports people with mixed skills and abilities and the building has all the necessary facilities to support wheelchair users.

Projects & activities that people take part in :

  • Making cards and other handmade items sold throughout the year to cater for celebrations and festive periods.
  • We often work on privately commissioned outputs.  Staff use various hands-on training techniques to ensure activities are inclusive to help those with poorer dexterity or control.
  • We work in partnership with local community events and have had various stalls at local markets, colleges and participate in events such as 'Friends of Cliff Castle'  contributing to fund raising events across Bradford, and often have a pop up shop for  friends and families to purchase goods.
  • In addition, particularly if the weather is nice, we may leave the arts and crafts behind, or take it outdoors, to make use of the community around us.
  • The Strawberry Street group also enjoy swimming, bowling and cinema around the local community.
  • In the building we also offer relaxation sessions with mats & beanbags to give people time-out and also allow wheelchair users some time out of their wheelchairs.
  • The service also promotes healthy and fun opportunities with staff supporting people with their physiotherapy programmes and incorporating exercise, singing and dancing.

Pop along to one of our popular coffee mornings and soak in the atmosphere.
