Well-being Café & Mental Health Support

We will offer support to older South Asian people and their carers at well-being cafés with other people facing similar issues. The cafés would offer a happy light hearted environment with informal chats, a friendly relaxed environment in which cultural / spiritual and religious needs are taken into account. Additional sessions and activities as determined by the group e.g. day trips, arts and crafts, cooking, exercise etc would also be provided.  The sessions would incorporate aromatherapy, seated exercise, easy to follow games such as bingo and invite service providers to come and raise awareness of support services, sharing key messages to help participants gain confidence, understand more about help available for different things and help them make informed lifestyle decisions from eating, cooking, managing money, problem solving and learning to live happy and more independently, underpinned by embedding self-care behaviours.
