New Choices - Active Community Entertainment

Bradford Provider List

Active Community Entertainment (A.C.E.) is a service situated in Oakworth Village Hall.

The hall is run by trustees from the local Parish Council and open to offer various services from the building.

The A.C.E. is a five-day service with three of the days using the facilities in Oakworth Hall with the other two service days being out and about.

The service can accommodate more people on the building-based days and usually operates smaller groups on the other days.

Activities vary from week to week to always ensure a good balance of practical, community and wellbeing orientated activities.  Being always open to new ideas and activities, if things you want to do are not on the plan, the team will work with you to accommodate everybody's wishes and aspirations.

Any week might include:

  • Our 'Sports4All' group when out and about is all about having fun whilst benefiting from a variety of sports & exercise.  Swimming, ten-pin bowling, crown green bowling are amongst the array of sports we enjoy.  We also have a range of sporting events throughout the year.
  • Project Horizon is another focus on our out and about days.  The group explores different trips out and places/venues of interest.  To maximise the day, people are picked up & dropped back at home.
  • On our days in Oakworth Hall, A.C.E. offers drama and music experiences which are fun & creative .
  • Our productions build confidence and self-esteem ,doing activities as a team and learning together, such as making props, helping with sound, lighting & photography.
  • As an active group, days in the hall regularly have a focus on music, dance, Karaoke and keeping fit.

Every day is different and the focus is on developing life skills, communication and self-expression.

We welcome everyone to come and visit and spend some time with the team!
