The Women’s Day Service is based at the Khidmat Centre Council for Mosques on Manchester Road. The site provides a service for women of varying abilities. At any one time up to 14 ladies a day attend the service.
Every day is very different, women enjoy lots of practical, health and interest-based activities within our centre but also have access to the facilities in and around the community using our mini-bus to venture further afield.
Through person-centred planning people know what they doing in advance and know what activities to prepare for.
Each person has their own key worker. The team also work closely with the families and carers who can be involved with support planning and attend events.
Daytime activities can include:
- Interactive games
- Chair aerobics
- Hair and beauty sessions, including nail painting and henna
- 'Cook and Eat' sessions
- Sensory rooms, from relaxation to massages.
- Art and crafts including seasonal craft sessions
- ‘Plant and Grow’ garden sessions
- Occasional mini-bus outings
The group has a monthly 'speak out' session where women can share what they would like to change and to come up with new activities they would like to try.
The Women's Service offers a very vibrant environment with plenty of laughter and smiles. Our aim is to make sure that every woman has a good day.
