New Choices - North Park House

North Park House offers an out and about service for people with Autism and complex behaviour. The focus is to enable people to widen their participation in community activities.

The service is based in a community setting in BD7 with an attractive outdoor area and offers an exciting and fun day for up to 7 people. The service has the capacity to grow and evolve based around what people want to do and skills they want to learn.

The team research the outdoors to find new opportunities for the people they are supporting. The service is moving all the time to reflect individual need.
The hub provides a safe and warm environment where people meet up in the morning and relax on their return after being out and about.

• The team are outdoor focused and access lots of exciting activities, for example, walking, trampolining, cycling, sailing, swimming, climbing and football.

• Some of the inhouse activities can include communication, media and developing independent living skills.
• There are options to work alongside your peer group developing friendships or you can choose to have some time alone in one of the specific areas within the building.
• The areas include a wellbeing room, sensory areas, media and music room or communal areas. The service offers a safe and spacious outdoor area to access.
• There are swings and other equipment for the people we support to use.
• The outdoor space provides a positive place to encourage interaction with friends. They hold regular social gatherings, for example, barbecues and picnics on sunny afternoons to relax and unwind.
• The service holds a regular forum called ‘New Voices @New Choices’ In the forum people can share their views, concerns and any changes to the service they attend.
• We also share opportunities across our services to ensure everybody has the chance to enjoy every day with New Choices.
