Over 55's activities


The Bierley Community Centre's OPALS programme is for the over 55's we provide opportunities for individuals to keep active, be creative, make friends and enjoy life.  The OPAL programme benefits members through social connection, remaining active members of the community, healthy eating, fun & entertainment, learning new skills and the chance to go on trips out.


9.30 - 11am Public living Room  to enjoy a cuppa and catch up with other OPAL's.  This is a free session. 

11am - 12 noon Reminiscing; A small group for over 55's all welcome. The group has members that may have neurological conditions such as dementia (carers are welcome) we come together to share stories of the old days.  This is a free session


OPALS Lunch 12 - 1pm  - join us for a 4 course traditional home cook meal for just £6.


Friday Friends 1pm - 3pm - this is a welcome space to enjoy a catch up with friends.  We have a drink trolley for those who would like a cuppa. We provide crafts and activities, board games, quiz sessions and prize bingo. This is a free session we ask a contribution towards crafts.
