Wrose Dementia Friendly Community Group

The Wrose Dementia Friendly Community Group was established in Dec 2019 to increase awareness and understanding of Dementia. The group provides support sessions to patients living with dementia & their carers on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each Month at St Cuthbert’s Church from 13:30 to 15:30. The sessions have been designed to address the needs of both the residents living with dementia & also their carers, who have confirmed the value of being able to meet other carers to share experiences, gain information & feel supported whilst their partners enjoy a period of fun & relaxation, based on reminiscing about a theme / period of local interest.The sessions include enterntainment, some reminiscing and socialising. Entertainment includes crafts, bingo and the occasional quiz and we also play music from yesteryear and encourage people to dance. The group try to ensure that all Carers have all the support and up to date information for care and support.
