Befriending, Companionship & Care with Joanne

Introduction

My name is Joanne McCarthy.  I am in the process of setting up my business after 20 years plus of working within the care sector and social care and feel it is now time to branch out working for myself as I have lots of experience to offer my new client base.  I am a chatty, sociable, and happy person.  I have a great deal of experience in all aspects of care for the older person and this is where my passion lies.  I have a naturally optimistic outlook on life and believe strongly in everyone’s right to be treated with dignity, respect and compassion.  I will always try to promote and encourage independence with my clients for as long as possible.

I am honest, trustworthy, and reliable.  I have an enhanced DBS certificate, Level 2 / 3 in Social Care, Level 3 First Aid Qualified. All my training is fully up to date and can be provided upon requested.  I can also provide recent references.

I am now offering a bespoke befriending, companionship and care service which can be tailored to meet your specific requirements.  Please see below:

Care

I can provide one to one support with personal care to include showering, bathing and dressing.  I am trained to support with catheter care, pad change and continence needs and much more.  I can prompt with taking medication, support with ordering medication / repeat prescriptions and monitor medication has been taken etc.  I can support with meal preparation and nutritional support.

Companionship

I provide companionship, just to chat or to go out or to share interest and hobbies.  I can help arrange regular sessions at times and days to suit you.

Sitting Service

I can provide a sitting service / night sit service on request.  This maybe to help give family members a break to attend events, holidays and appointments.  Please feel free to discuss further.

Holidays 

I am happy to support for clients to go on short breaks / holidays and this will be tailored to meet the needs of my clients.

Trips Out

You may just want to go out for a drive for coffee and cake.  I can drive you, be your companion for the duration whilst offering any support you need during the trip out.

Domestic

I can provide a light cleaning service i.e. light dusting, vacuuming, washing up and bed change.  Short dog walks and feeding upon request.

Shopping

I am available to go shopping on your behalf, or if you prefer, we can go together.  Equally I can take you and offer support around banking and pension collection.

Hospital Aftercare / Appointment Escort

I am available to accompany you to any Doctors / outpatients or similar appointment should I have space available, should this be required in addition to your regular session.

Meet and greet

If any of the above meets your needs I am happy to discuss further and would be happy to offer you an initial appointment.  I would encourage you to invite a trusted friend or family member to attend this meeting to support you during this initial meet and greet should you find this helpful.  At this first session we can discuss your requirements in detail, and I can provide you with a list of charges for this bespoke service that will be tailored entirely to your needs.
