African Caribbean Achievement Project - RISE together

RISE Together is a new Independent Living Skills and Advocacy Project designed specifically for neurodivergent adults, including those with learning disabilities and autism, within the African and African Caribbean community.

RISE Together empowers participants to lead more independent lives, stay active, and connect with others. This project is committed to reducing loneliness and isolation by offering an inclusive, supportive environment.

The project operates twice weekly, with each session dedicated to interactive workshops that build essential life skills—such as budgeting, cooking, household management, and self-advocacy for navigating health and social care services. Additionally, we offer autism-specific activities that create sensory-friendly social interactions and provide a platform for Black autistic adults to connect and celebrate shared experiences. Cultural awareness sessions allow participants to connect with their heritage and community.
