Autism Youth Group

Wrose Adventurers is a Youth Group for young people aged between 11 and 25, with Asperger’s syndrome or high functioning autism. We are a small and friendly group, based at Highcroft Youth Centre in Wrose, Shipley. Our members come from all over the Bradford District, to have fun, play games and socialise. Members can socialise in a safe setting and join in activities such as pool, arts & crafts, board games or just chill and listen to music and use laptops. We also organise occasional trips to bowling, Laserzone and to eat out at local restaurants. Our group exists to relieve stress and advance the education, social and mental wellbeing of young adults with autism (and related conditions) and their families and carers. Our club is supported by experienced staff and a dedicated group of volunteers. We are managed by a parent-carer committee, and rely on small voluntary sector grants to keep running. We have a member subscription which is currently £20 per month, which members pay at the beginning of each month. We may on occasion ask for an additional contribution towards some activities e.g. bowling trips. Wrose Adventurers welcomes new members, and is always happy to hear from new volunteers to work with the group. Our ethos is to provide a relaxed, safe and happy atmosphere to enable our members to enjoy themselves, and feel at home.
