Springfield Gardens - Horticulture for people with learning disabilities
Springfield Gardens is a horticultural/conservation project for adults with a learning disability. Set on a 7 acre site on the edge of Holmewood with orchards and growing plots. The people we support are involved in growing seasonal fruit and vegetables and selling them to the local community. We also provide handicraft/woodwork opportunities. The people we support are also involved in looking after the animals we have on site.
The site is open Monday to Friday and limited time over the weekend which enables us to continue to develop the site and widen participation for all.
We have strong links with the local community, schools and other local organisations and where we can pool our recourses together to hold annual events.
